Saturday, October 29, 2011 Hello to any .. people out there viewing this blog. LONG LONG time no blog. Ahaha. Well, can't be helped, i was busy with NS. I was enlisted on the 1st of August. Stayed in Tekong for 4 weeks for BMT. I'm a ex-ULYSSES recruit now though. "PAH-BUEY-TOH! GUSTO"! After training at Tekong, i got posted to Sembawang Camp for 5 weeks BMT Vocational training. I was posted to the Medic group. However, don't be mistaken though. My vocation is "Dental Assistant". Yeah, i know it's weird too. First time in my life i have heard about this vocation. So after passing out from Sembawang Camp, i was posted to the Nee Soon Camp for 10 weeks Medic training. My training is different from other medics because i am under Service Medic group. So i have 2 weeks lesser training than those Combat Medic group. I am now still at Nee Soon Camp training. 7 weeks more to go before i get posted to my unit where i reckon i will be staying throughout my NS life. Training was ok-ok. Physical training was relaxed, but mental training was ... abit tough. What kind of MENTAL training you ask? Mental Training from watching pictures or videos about those gruesome injuries people get. For example, pictures of amputated limbs, videos of blood spurting from a wound, etc etc. I still got 8 more IVs to go though, kinda depressing. But it's ok. At least my sergeant's got a point. Compared to other vocations like storeman, my vocation is teaching us lifeskills, "How to save other people". It's like more meaningful than the other vocations from what he said. Because like infantry or other vocation, once they passed out from NS, they would not be able to use their skill anywhere. But that is not the case for Medics. Lol, it seems funny how i'm like boasting about my vocation but i still don't like my vocation. Ahaha. Ok then, that's all for today. Better devote my book out moments on other things too. Hahaha.
