Thursday, September 9, 2010 This post for today is going to be B-O-R-I-N-G. Whether you want stay if you want to know or leave if you don't want to know, I DON'T CARE. My chinese name is 林苇杰. For those who knows chinese, you might have noticed that my "苇" is not the same as the other's "伟". The "伟" is used mostly for "伟大" where as the "苇" is used for "芦苇". "伟大" is used for saying a person is noble. "芦苇" is actually a plant, reed. I can still remember asking my mum when i was younger, "Why is my chinese name using a different character as the others?" She didn't tell me why, but she explained the meaning of the two words. She even asked me whether i want to change my chinese name from "苇" to "伟" since it is like so uncommon. However, knowing the meaning of the words, i didn't want to change. This is because my impression of plant is that they are strong. I want to be strong... Sadded, the day that i have been waiting for so long has arrived yet i am not allowed to do a single thing. Chikusho!! |
